Description
A new edition of the popular Raspberry Pi minicomputer in v1.1 version. Model 2 has a more powerful quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 900 MHz processor and more memory, 1 GB of RAM. The board includes known from the version B+, peripherals, for example, four USB slots, additional 40 GPIO, microSD card connectors, an Ethernet port and four mounting holes.
Through the use of the same peripheral systems and identical layout of the elements, the Raspberry Pi 2 is compatible with the model B+. This means that accessories and cases will work with the new version. |

What's new in 2 v1.1 version?

The picture and sound
The Raspberry Pi has HDMI version 1.4, through which you can send picture and sound. In addition, the board was equipped with a 4-pin Jack 3.5 mm to which you can connect headphones, speakers or display video through a standard RCA Composite. Operating system
A microSD card is a drive of the raspberry. The operating system can be uploaded via the computer with the reader. In our store are available cards with the installed NOOBs software which with the first activation enables choosing from the systems: Raspbian, Pidora Openelec, RaspBMC, RISC OS, Aarch Linux. Microsoft promises the future release of Windows 10, which will work with Raspberry Pi 2.
Communication
Raspberry has the main communication interfaces, which can be found in PC class office computers. In addition to the previously listed connectors for audio and video, the user has at his disposal:
- four USB connectors, to which can be connected, for example, a mouse, a keyboard, a WiFi card or USB flash drive. If you find that there are not enough slots, you can increase the number of slots by using an external USB HUB.
- Ethernet connector, that is the ability to directly connect to the LOCAL network
- GPIO- general purpose outputs/inputs that can be used to control the LEDs, buttons, drivers of motors. Among them are the pins supportting interfaces: I2C, SPI and UART. From version B+, the GPIO number was increased from 26 to 40.
Power
As a power source it uses the microUSB connector. In practice, this means that to run Rasbperry Pi, you can use the charger for mobile phones with capacity of at least 1 A.
