The module with the CAP1188 system that implements 8 of the capacitive touch buttons. Pins can be connected to any of the objects conducting the electric current. The board communicates over I2C or SPI, it enables, for example, to create a music tool from a fruit.

Description

The module with the CAP1188system that implements 8 of the capacitive touch buttons. To the holes with the pitch of 2.54 mm, you can connect, using the wires, any conductive elements and create from them the keyboard. The device works with: metal tools, fruits, vegetables and water. The board has LEDs that indicate the correct activation of the button.

 

 

The pins are holes for soldering the popular goldpin connectors - 2.54 mm pitch - strap is included in the kit for self-soldering. ChipCAP1188 can communicate through the SPI or I2C bus.

 

The product is compatible with Arduino

Manufacturer has prepared a user manual along with a library on the GitHub for Arduino users.

 

Connection

Pin Description
VIN Supply voltage from 3 V to 5 V
GND The ground of the system.
CCS

Clock line of the I2C bus.

SDA

MISO

The data line of the I2C bus.

The data line of the SPI bus.

MOSI

The data line of the SPI bus.

CS

Chip Select - selection of a device of the SPI bus.

IRQ

External interrupt - goes into a low status when the touch is detected

RST

Reset of the system - the optional pin, it can be left unconnected.
AD

Configuration

  • AD connected to GND: SPI mode
  • AD disconnected: I2C mode with the 0x29 address
  • AD connected to 3 V: I2C mode with the 0x28 address
  • AD connected through a resistor of 600k to GND: I2C mode with address 0x2A
  • AD is connected via the 300K resistor to GND: I2C mode with the address 0x2B
  • AD is connected via the 180k resistor to GND: I2C mode with the address 0x2C
