A communication module in the form of a converter that enables communication between USB and UART serial interfaces. It allows the exchange of data between the computer and systems using microcontrollers. The module is based on the PL2303GS chip . In the operating system it is visible as a virtual COM port. UART interface voltage can be 1.8V / 2.5V / 3.3V / 5V .

The main features of the converter
- Equipped with a chip in the new version V2 - PL2303GS
- Supports Windows XP / 7/8/10/11
- It has three power supply modes - 3x VCCIO configured by setting a jumper:
- VCCIO-5V: 5V output
- VCCIO-3.3V: 3.3V output
- open the jumper: powered from the target board with the voltage of 1.8V / 2.5V / 3.3V / 5V)
- Equipped with three LEDs acting as indicators: TXD, RXD, PWR
Attention!
The Waveshare 20265 module is compatible with TTL level ONLY, to avoid damage, please DO NOT connect it directly to the RS232 circuit.
Description of the converter pins
- VCCIO - 3.3 V or 5 V output (the module is powered from the USB A port, and the jumper on the board should be shorted to 3.3 V or 5 V)
- GND - the ground of the system
- TXD - MCU.RX pin of UART transmitter (signal direction: MCU.RX << PL2303 << PC.TX)
- RXD - MCU.TX pin of UART receiver (signal direction: MCU.TX >> PL2303 >> PC.RX)
