Product description: Grove - LPG, natural gas and coal gas sensor - MQ5 - analogue
The module is equipped withMQ5 sensorwhich is used todetect leaks of LPG, natural gas and carbon gas. The sensor iscompatible with Arduino and Raspberry, thanks toGrove standardconnectorit can be connected directly to Grove-Pi+ and Grove Base Shield. The sensorcommunicates through the analog interface, because Raspberry does not support it, it is necessary to use Grove-Pi+ overlayorADC.Thesensitivity of the sensor can be adjustedwith a potentiometer built into the board. The supply voltage is 5 V.
Arduino compatible product The manufacturer providesa user guideshowing its connection and programming. |
Connection of LPG, natural gas and coal gas sensor - MQ5
The sensor is mounted on the board by means of a special 7-pin socket, so replacing the sensor with a new one takes a while and does not require buying the whole module. The board is equipped with a Grove connector which allows for direct connection to the Grove-Pi+or GroveBase Shieldby means of a dedicated cable, included in the kit.Direct connection to the Raspberry is impossible because the minicomputer does not support analog interface, it is necessary to use Grove-Pi+ overlayorADC.
