Product description: 868MHz LoRaWAN Network Gateway - Nebra HNT Indoor Hotspot Helium Miner - Rock Pi version
The Nebra HNT indoor LoRaWAN network gateway, is compatible with the Helium network. The device was created with the idea of digging the Helium cryptocurrency. Anyone can join The Poeple's Network and extend the wireless network's reach to hundreds of more square kilometers while mining HNT on the Helium Blockchain. This version of the Nebra hotspot is based on the Rock Pi and runs at 868 MHz (EU868, IN865, RU864) and consumes only 15 watts of power.
Principle of Helium cryptocurrency digging
Nebra HNT Indoor Hotspot Helium Miner earns HNT Helium tokens when devices connect to it and checks the wireless network coverage provided by partners. Using a system called Proof-of-Coverage, miners will dig more HNT when they are within range of other miners, but must be at least 300 meters apart. The range depends on the environment:
- rural areas: about 15 kilometers or more
- Densely built-up areas: approximately 1.5 kilometers
Individual miners mine less HNT because they can only issue Challenges online and cannot participate in Proof-of-Coverage.
Hotspots earn HNT for building and securing network infrastructure and transmitting data from devices. The amount of HNT distributed to hotspots depends on the type of "work" they do based on their value to the network.
Making money from digging Helium
Compared to other cryptocurrencies, Helium does not have a fixed daily amount earned by units due to differences between device configurations. Check out the coverage map to see how much other users in your area are earning.
Managing your Helium Nebra hotspot
Excavator Nebra offers two options for remote hotspot management. You can sign up for the hotspot management platform. Two plans are available: basic (free) and advanced (paid).
The Basic plan includes built-in automatic updates for the life of the device at no additional charge.
The Advanced plan offers a dashboard to remotely manage your copter fleet, check device statistics, hotspot performance and more.
