Hall sensor connection

The simplest way to connect a microcontroller to a module with a Hall sensor is to use the Qwiic connector , which allows you to easily connect I2C devices without soldering thanks to a standard, polarized interface. Simply connect the Qwiic cable to the sensor. For a more durable connection, you can solder the wires directly to the PTH pins on the edge of the board, spaced every 0.1". Alternatively, you can use a goldpin strip, remembering about the appropriate functionality and arrangement.

Jumpers on the back of the board.

Jumpers

There are three jumpers on the back of the board that allow you to easily modify hardware connections.

  1. LED: allows you to disconnect power from the red power LED, which is useful in applications requiring minimal power consumption.

  2. I2C: The jumper is shorted (soldered) at the factory and may need to be cut when there are I2C bus conflicts with other devices or when the I2C address needs to be changed.

  3. INT: Like the I2C jumper, it is shorted from the factory and must be cut in specific application scenarios requiring a different interrupt configuration.

Qwiic Connect system by SparkFun

Qwiic is a communication interface standard created by SparkFun Electronics that allows you to easily and quickly connect various devices using connector cables. The Qwiic system eliminates the need for soldering with standardized, snap-in polarized connectors, making prototyping electronic designs much easier. Thanks to Qwiic, you can easily connect sensors , accelerometers , OLED screens , expansion boards and other devices that support I2C communication. The Qwiic standard is particularly appreciated for its simplicity and intuitiveness in use, which speeds up the process of creating and testing electronic prototypes.
