What is Meshtastic? Mesh networks - next-generation WiFi
Meshtastic is a modern open source communication system that works on the basis of GPS and does not require internet access. The more common nomenclature is Mesh networks or wireless mesh network. However, it is more precise to refer to it as an encrypted communication platform because it actually communicates outside the network and uses a radio protocol. When a message is sent in the Meshtastic companion application - it is transmitted via Bluetooth. This message is then broadcast by radio three times over a specified period of time. Among the advantages of the Mesh topology, we can find primarily efficiency, flexibility, simplicity in configuration and much better connection quality in larger spaces.
