Description
Bluno Mega is fully compatible with popular module Arduino Mega 1280. This means that it can be programmed throughthe Arduino IDEusing available libraries. The so-calledArduino Shield are also collaborating with the DFRobot module.
The board has a CC2540 chip by Texas Instruments which allows for communication in the Bluetooth 4.0 standard. Thanks to this functionality, the user can remotely program the Bluno (BLE) module, use AT commands and to update the software in a simple way.
The Board contains the ATmega 1280microcontroller, equipped with 54 digital inputs/outputs, 14 of which can be used as PWM outputs (e.g. for motor control) and 16 as analog inputs. The system works with the clock signal with the frequency of 16 MHz. The module has also a USB connector, DC power socket, RESET button, and the leads used to connectthe AVR programmer.
DFRobot company introduced colored connectors that facilitate the identification of the conclusions:
- red- power pins,
- blue - analog pins
- green- digital pins.
In order to start Bluno Mega, you need to connect the system to the computer usingthe microUSB cableand choose inthe Arduino IDE, the Arduino Mega board and ATmega 1280 processor. |
Power
The module can be powered viathe USB cableand the external device, for example, the AC adapter, the battery or the rechargeable battery. Switching the power sources is automatic. The power supply is connected to a standard DC connector. Rechargeable battery or other source is connected to the pins of the POWER connector.
Programming
Creating and installing the software is allowed by the free environment of the Arduino IDE. Implemented bootloader allows you to send the program directly via USB cable. ISCP connector enables connection of an externalAVR programmer. A detailed description can be found in thedocumentationandtutorial. Bluno Mega also has the capability of remote programming via Bluetooth (BLE).
