ADXL345 - 3-axis accelerometer I2C/SPI - Qwiic/STEMMA QT - Adafruit 1231

Index: ADA-21465

The Adafruit module is equipped with an ADXL345 accelerometer that allows to measure acceleration in three axes X, Y, Z in the range of + - 2 g / 4 g / 8 g / 16 g . Thanks to the built-in voltage regulator of 3.3 V , it can be supplied with the voltage from 3 V to 5 V. For communication with the microcontroller it uses the I2C or SPI bus, thanks to which it is compatible with popular boards, such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi or ESP32 / ESP8266. The sensor is additionally equipped with two Qwiic / STEMMA QT connectors.

Outputs of the module with the ADXL345 accelerometer

The module is equipped with traditional, described holes for soldering goldpin connectors and two Qwiic / STEMMA QT connectors, which significantly facilitate and accelerate the process of connecting the module with the motherboard equipped with the same type of connector. It uses the SPI and I2C interface for communication (also available via the Qwiic / STEMMA QT connector).

  • VIN - input to the voltage regulator 3.3 V, allows the use of the sensor in 5 V systems.
  • 3V0 - regulator output 3.3 V (<100 ma="" li="">
  • GND - the ground of the system.
  • SCL - data line of the I2C (TWI) / SPI bus.
  • SDA - clock line of the I2C (TWI) / SPI bus.
  • SDO / ALT ADDR - selection of the I2C bus address / Data line of the SPI bus.
  • CS - pinout for the SPI bus - Chip Select. The logical one starts the I2C bus.
  • INT1 / INT2 - external interrupt outputs (details in documentation ).
