Description
Module from Velleman is fully compatible with Arduino Mega 2560. This means that it can be programmed through the Arduino IDE using available libraries. The so-calledArduino Shield are also collaborating with Velleman module.
The board contains the ATmega 2560microcontroller, equipped with 54 digital inputs/outputs, 15 of which can be used as PWM outputs (e.g. for motor control) and 16 as analog inputs. The system works with the clock signal with the frequency of 16 MHz. The module has also a USB connector, DC power socket, RESET button, and the pins used to connectthe AVR programmer.
To start the module, you must connect the system to PC using USB cable and select, inthe Arduino IDE, the Arduino Mega board. |
Power
The module can be powered via the USB cable and the external device, for example, the AC power adapter, the battery or the rechargeable battery. Switching power sources is automatic. The power supply is connected to a standard DC socket. Rechargeable battery or other source is connected to the pins of the POWER connector.
Programming
Creating and installing the software is allowed by the free environment of the Arduino IDE. Implemented bootloader allows you to send the program directly via USB cable. ISCP connector enables connection of an external AVR programmer. A detailed description can be found in the documentation and tutorial.
