A robot kit designed for self-assembly from Pololu. Pololu 3pi+ 32U4 OLED robot is a high-performance mobile platform based on ATmega32U4 controller - Arduino compatible. The Standard Edition kit includes two DC MP motors with 30:1 gearing and encoders, a number of integrated sensors (including a 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer), reflection sensors located on the underside of the platform, a collision sensor, a 128 x 64 OLED graphic display, LED indicators and more. The diameter of the robot is 9.7 cm and the average movement rate is about 1.5 m/s.
3pi+ from Pololu - advanced robot for self-assembly
The 3pi+ robot from Pololu is equipped with an ATmega32U4 motherboard. It also features a microUSB connector, which is used to program the board, and an Arduino compatible bootloader. To program the board use USB to microUSB cable (not included). The robot can be programmed in Arduino IDE environment using available libraries. Additional ports, designed for more advanced users, allow to connect additional accessories. The board also includes an H-bridge and encoders for controlling DC motors, as well as a 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer, 5 IR reflective sensors for detecting surface edges, and right and left collision sensors. The user also gets three buttons for any use, an OLED display, a buzzer, and status LEDs.
What is needed to get started with the robot?
Additional items required that are not included:
- Four AAA batteries - the robot works with alkaline batteries and Ni-MH batteries, the manufacturer recommends using Ni-MH batteries.
- MicroUSB cable - required to connect the robot to a computer for programming and debugging.
