Pololu is a company that was founded in 2000 by three MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) students. The students made it possible to improve robot performance with their first product - a device for communication between autonomous robots. It uses appropriately placed infrared light emitting diodes. Thanks to such devices and appropriate software, they find each other easily and quickly. Such a device is used in many robots to determine the location of other objects - based on them, you can build devices that return to the "base" on their own, or "cat" and "mouse" robots that will chase each other.
Where did the name Pololu come from?
Pololu (Hawaiian for long spear) is a valley on the north coast of the Big Island of Hawaii that inspired the company's unique name - the two founders used to fly remote-controlled gliders there as a pastime during their high school days.
