Product description: TPS61023 - 5V 1A step-up converter - Adafruit 4654.
TPS61023 TPS61023-basedstep-up converter with5 Voutput voltage and1 Acurrent capacity. The input voltage should bebetween 0.5 V and 5.5 V. The minimum input voltage for start-up is1.8 V.The manufacturer has obtained the following current capacity results for 5 V during tests with different input voltages:
- 2 V: 300 mA for 5 V (minimum starting voltage of the inverter)
- 2.5 V: 500 mA for 5 V (twoNiMH batteries)
- 3 V: 800 mA for 5 V (twoalkalineor weakLi-Pol batteries)
- 3.5 V: 1100 mA for 5 V (nominal voltage Li-Pol)
- 4 V: 1400 mA for 5 V (3NiMH batteriesor fully chargedLi-Pol)
Similar step-up converters are often used to obtain 5 V output voltage usingLi-Pol3.7 V batteries. The following is the result of the inverter efficiency test for battery performance:
- 5.2 V / 100 mA requires 3.7 V / 160 mA (88%)
- 5.2 V / 250 mA requires 3.7 V / 400 mA (88%)
- 5.2 V / 500 mA requires 3.7 V / 800 mA (88%)
- 5.2 V / 1000 mA requires 3.7 V / 1800 mA (78%)
