ATtiny1616 Breakout is a module produced by Adafruit, which acts as a pin expander. It is designed to be used with boards that use the I2C bus , such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. It extends the functionality of these boards with an additional 12x GPIO, 9x ADC, 5x PWM, 1x NeoPixel, 1x EEPROOM with 127 bytes of NVM memory (the last byte of the EEPROM is used to select the I2C address) and 1x interrupt pin. The module is equipped with the ATtiny1616 microcontroller with 16 kB of Flash memory, 2 kB of RAM and 256 bytes of EEPROM.

  • 1x NeoPixel output (up to 250 pixels)
  • 1x EEPROM with 127 bytes of NVM memory - the last byte of the EEPROM is used to select the I2C address
  • 1x interrupt output that can be triggered by any accessories - pin 6
  • 2x I2C address selection pin - pins 12 and 13

  • VIN - power pin (from 2 V to 5 V)
  • 3V - power pin (3.3V)
  • GND - system ground
  • SCL - clock pin of the I2C bus
  • SDA - data pin of the I2C bus
