Dissipation of thermal energy in resistors
A characteristic feature of resistors, which results from their construction and theoretical considerations, is that the greater the voltage we apply to them, the greater the current that flows through them. The power dissipated as heat in a resistor is proportional to the square of the current flowing through it.
For this reason, standard 1/4W resistors may sometimes be insufficient. In such cases, the problem is solved by using resistors with much higher power - 1W.
Power Resistors in Audio Applications
Electroacoustics is a branch of electronics in which we can very often encounter the use of power resistors. They are used, among others, in the power supply and control circuits of electron tubes in audio amplifiers.
Power resistors are also found in older analog synthesizer designs that use temperature stabilization circuits to maintain proper tuning of voltage-controlled generators and filters.

30 days to return, without giving a reason
