In the offered 12 V / 2.5 A switching power supply, the method of voltage regulation differs from classic linear designs. Here we will not see a large mains transformer and linear stabilizer. Instead, regulation is carried out by controlling the keying transistor at the input of the power supply with a PWM waveform with variable duty cycle. The duty cycle depends on the voltage at the output of the system - via an error amplifier, which provides a feedback signal to the PWM generator.
