VL53L7CX time-of-flight - 8x8 I2C distance sensor - 350cm - Pololu 3418

Index: PLL-23800 EAN: 5904422384647
VL53L7CX laser distance sensor measuring in the range of up to 350 cm using the Time-of-Flight method via the I2C digital interface. It has a wide field of view and the ability to measure the distance of many objects simultaneously within numerous zones, providing enough data to create a depth map with a resolution of up to 8x8 . It is also characterized by an eye-safe laser light source with a wavelength of 940 nm. The supply voltage range is from 2.5 V to 5.5 V. Not recommended for 8-bit microcontrollers.

Product description: VL53L7CX time-of-flight - distance sensor 8x8 I2C - 350 cm - Pololu 3418

The VL53L7CX distance sensor is a tool based on Time-of-Flight technology, enabling precise distance measurement in the range from 0.2 cm to 350 cm via the I2C interface. It is possible to measure the distances of multiple objects in multiple zones simultaneously, providing enough data to generate a depth map with an impressive 8x8 resolution. The board is equipped with a 3.3 V voltage regulator, which allows for stable power supply of the sensor in the range from 2.5 V to 5.5 V. Thanks to the popular goldpin connectors, you can choose between connecting the sensor using wires or plugging it directly into the contact board , which greatly facilitates integration with various electronic projects. The set also includes connectors for self-soldering. However, please note that due to the requirements of memory resources and computing power, it is not recommended to use this sensor with 8-bit microcontrollers, such as the popular Arduino Uno . Alternative solutions are suggested for such applications.

Attention!
It is not recommended to use the sensor with 8-bit microcontrollers. Initializing the VL53L7CX and processing reads requires a significant amount of RAM and code space, making this sensor impractical for use with 8-bit microcontrollers (the ST API for the VL53L7CX typically uses over 90 kB of program memory).

VL53L7CX time-of-flight - distance sensor - module pins

Module pins.

Description of the sensor pins

  • VDD - adjustable sensor output voltage 3.3 V
  • VIN - module supply voltage in the range from 3.3 V to 5.5 V
  • GND - system ground
  • SDA - data line of the I2C communication interface
  • SCL - clock line of the I2C communication interface
  • LPn - entering a low state will disable I2C communication, by default it is pulled up to VDD to activate I2C
  • INT - external interrupt output
  • I2C_RST - entering a high state resets I2C, pulled up to GND by default
