Product description:Logical level converter - SparkFun
The module allows for communication between systems using the two most popular voltage levels: 3.3V and 5V. It allows you to combine the popular communication interfaces: UART, SPI and I2C. The board dimensions are 13 x 15 mm.
The outputs are soldering fields, allowing to soldergoldpin connectors(raster 2.54 mm). Thanks to them it is possible to connect the circuit with acontactboardormain module (e.g. STM32Discovery orArduino) usingwires.
The kit does not includegoldpin slats...can be purchased separately. |
Example of use
The converter is easy to use, for proper operation it is enough to connect the power supply of two systems to be converted. Higher voltage (e.g. 5 V) should be connected to the HV (high voltage) output, lower voltage (e.g. 3.3 V or 2.8 V) to LV (low voltage). Masses are connected to the outputs marked with GND. Logical signals should be led to appropriate TXI, RXI - inputs and TXO, RXO - outputs.
A 5 V logical one will be connected to the TX input on the 5 V (HV) side of the TXO output with a value of 3.3 V from the RXO output on the 3.3 V (LV) side. In the other side, the system works in the same way.
