Description
Module with 32-bit microcontroller with ARM Cortex M3, 72 MHz, 128 KB of Flash, 20 KB of RAM. Nucleo is compatible with the mbed platform, it has connectors for connecting the Arduino Shields. Version X, in addition, has i.a.: voltage regulators, UART converter, resonator of 8 MHz and jumpers to change the settings. The device is compatible with the Arduino Uno and Leonardo, it has the ICSP connector.
The distribution of connectors is compatible with the Arduino, it allows to use the Arduino Shields.
The manufacturer provides a detaileduser manual, software and sample programs for this platform. |
Comparison of boards XNucleo and Nucleo
Modules XNucleo have many additional features that facilitate working with the STM32 microcontroller.
XNUCLEO-F103RB STM32F103RBT6 ARM Cortex M0 - Waveshare 10026.
Name | XNUCLEO | NUCLEO | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Compatible with Arduino | Uno, Leonardo | Uno | Xnucleo can be switched to compatibility mode with Leonardo through the connector (by default, in compatibility mode with Uno). |
Arduino ICSP interface | Yes | No | Connector required by some shields. |
USB interface | Yes | No | In Xnucleo, USB is available at the user's disposal. |
USB connector | MicroUSB | MiniUSB | MicroUSB is currently the more popular connector. |
Morpho connectors indications |
Most | No | Xnucleo also has a description of the Morpho connectors on the board. |
Change of settings |
Via jumpers |
Soldering adapters |
The jumpers are easier to set up than the soldering of adapters. |
UART debugger |
The possibility of debugging in the circuit |
There is no possibility of debugging in the circuit |
Xnucleo has a seperate converter USB-UART so there is a possibility of debugging, the so-called, in-circuit. |
The Resonator of 8 MHz | Yes | No | The use of resonator increases the accuracy of the timers. |
Resonator of 32.768 kHz | Yes | No | Required to measure the time - RTC. |
USB fuse | Yes (500mA) | No | Protecting the USB port of a computer. |
LEDs | 4 | 1 | In Xnucleo, a larger number of LED indicators were applied. |
UART LED | Yes | No | It shows the communication status of the UART. |
DC input | Yes | No | It facilitates the connection of the power supply. |
ST-LINK | Separate | Integrated | Programmer ST-LINK can be used separately.XNUCLEO does not have a built-in programmer, it can be purchased separately. |
