DFRobot Fermion module with the TMF8801 time-of-flight (ToF) distance sensor, which can measure at a proximity range of 2 cm to 10 cm and at a distance range of 10 cm to 250 cm, with an accuracy of ±5%. The sensor measures distance based on the time difference between light pulses. It detects objects regardless of the color, reflectance, and texture of the object. The module uses an I2C interface for communication and is powered by 2.7 V to 3.3 V.

The module equipped with the TMF8801 sensor, communicates with the microcontroller via the I2C interface. It is powered by 2.7 V to 3.3 V. It has the following leads:
- VCC: supply voltage from 2.7 V to 3.3 V
- GND: system ground
- SCL: I2C bus clock line
- SDA: I2C bus data line
- INT: interrupt pin
- EN: reset
- PIN0: interrupt output pin0
- PIN1: interrupt output pin1
