Product description: Badger 2040 - board with RP2040 and 2.9 '' e-paper screen 296x128px + accessories - Pimoroni PIM610
The Badger 2040 board was created by Pimoroni in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Raspberry Pi. The module is based on the RP2040 Dual-Core ARM Cortex M0 + microcontroller clocked at 133 MHz with 264 KB of SRAM and 2 MB of QSPI flash memory with XiP support. The board is equipped with a black and white e-paper screen with a diagonal of 2.9 " and a resolution of 296 x 128 px . On the front of the board there are 5 buttons, while on the other side you can find GPIO pins, JST battery connector, Qwiic / Stemma QT, USB type C and two buttons.
Module with e-Ink screen
Badger 2040 is equipped with an e-paper screen, which can also be found in e-book readers. These types of displays do not strain the eyes, which makes them ideal for reading long texts. The e-paper screens consume a small amount of energy and continue to display the last image when disconnected from the power supply. The screen used on the board has a diagonal of 2.9 "and a resolution of 296 x 128 pixels, and the distance between pixels is 0.227 x 0.226 mm. The screen displays the image in shades of black and white.
Programming the Badger 2040 board
The Badger 2040 board is based on the RP2040 microcontroller, which supports programming languages such as C / C ++, MicroPython and CircuitPython. The manufacturer has prepared C ++ and MicroPython libraries along with sample program codes.
