The device is based on a powerful ARM processor with a hardware USB 2.0 Full Speed interface. In the system it is seen as an additional COM port. When you connect the device to the USB, it works as a programmer for AVR processors, while when you turn on any RS232 terminal and press "enter" twice, you will see a menu with additional functions supported from the terminal. You don't need any additional environment, you don't need to reprogramme the device to change its functionality, all you have to do is select the appropriate function from the menu.
Working in STK500 v2-compliant AVR programmer mode, you can program AVR processors with the environment:
- AVRStudio (including the latest version - AVRStudio 5)
- and others that support STK500v2
Thanks to hardware support USB, the programmer guarantees super fast programming of processors and stable operation. From AVRStudio level you can measure power supply voltage of programmed processor, you can also control power output from USB port to power programmed processor.
