Description
Genuino Mega is with one of the richest versions in the series. The board contains an ATmega2560 microcontroller, equipped with 54 digital inputs/outputs, of which 15 can be used as PWM outputs (e.g. for controlling motors) and 16 analogue inputs. The circuit is clocked with a 16 MHz clock signal, has 256 kB of Flash memory and 8 kB of SRAM memory.
The subject of sale is an original Genuino product from the distributionwww.arduino.cc.
Main features
Below are some features that distinguish the modules from other programmable tiles.
The name | Description |
---|---|
Installed bootloader |
Thanks to the installed bootloader, the appropriateUSB cable andsoftware from the manufactureris sufficient to program the device. |
Shield |
The layout of connectors enables installation of dedicatedArduino Shieldcovers. |
Extracts . digital |
56 digital inputs/outputs enable, among other things, to control LEDs, relays and read button statuses. |
Performance Current |
The maximum current capacity of a single output is 20 mA. |
Outputs PWM |
15 PWM outputs allow e.g. for motor control and diode brightness adjustment. |
Inputs analogue |
The 16 inputs of the built-in 10-bit analogue-to-digital converter support, among others, sensors with analogue output. |
Communication serial |
The device supports popular communication interfaces, among others: UART, I2C and SPI. |
Special functions | Some pins have special functions, a brief description of which is available in our guide. |
Memory Embedded |
Atmega2560 chip is clocked with 16 MHz signal, has 256 kB of flash memory, 4 kB EEPROM and 8 kB SRAM. |
Power supply DC connector |
Any power supplyfrom 7 V to 12 V with a 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC connector can be used to power Genuino. |
Power supply USB port |
The board can be powered from a computer viaa USB cable witha maximum current capacity of 500 mA. Genuino has a system that protects the socket against short circuits and excessive current flow. |
The connector is . ICSP |
The module has ICSP outputs to connect an externalAVR programmer. |
Pin IOREF |
The IOREF pin allows for direct access to the voltage with which the I/O outputs work. |
Built-in LED |
The connected LED on pin 13 allows debugging of simple programs. |
Output 3,3 V |
The built-in voltage regulator enables external devices to be supplied with 3.3 V with current consumption of up to 50 mA. |
First start-up In order to make it easier to start working with the module, we have prepareda guidewhich concerns the installation and first start-up of the environment. |
Layout of components on the Genuino Mega 2560 - in the latest version of the board, the reset button is located next to the USB port.

Due to the conflict within the Arduino team, two versions of the environment were available to download from: Genuino tiles come from the distribution ofArduino.cc.If you install software downloaded from a source module other than the one described on the back of the module, you will receive a message about an unauthorized supplier of the board. You can cancel it with one click and the environment will work properly. |
