A kit of parts for self-assembly of the3pi+ Turtle Editionrobot withDC HPCB motors with 75:1 gearingandcontrollerbased on the32U4chip. The Pololu 3pi+ robot includes 9DoF, reflection sensors for line tracking, collision (located on the bumper),LCD display, buzzer and power switch. Two motors withencodersalong with two wheels and an auxiliary support ball allow the robot to move at a speed of about 0.4 m/s.
Equipment of the 3pi+ robot
Pololu 3pi+ is equipped with a main board with diameter of9.7 cm, based onATmega32U4chip. The board is equipped withmicroUSBconnector used to program the board andArduino compatible bootloader. To program the board useUSB to microUSB cable(not included). The robot can be programmed inArduino IDEenvironment using available libraries and sample codes for Arduino. Additional ports, designed for more advanced users, allow to connect additional accessories. The board also includesan H-bridgeandencodersfor controlling DC motors, as well as a 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer, 5 IR reflective sensors for detecting surface edges and a right and left collision sensor. Three buttons for any user use, LCD display, buzzer and status LEDs.
What do I need to get started with the robot?
- Four AAA batteries - the robot works with alkaline and rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, the manufacturer recommends the use of rechargeableNi-MH batteries.
- MicroUSB cable- required to connect the robot with the computer, for programming and debugging purposes.
