The DMX Unit from M5Stack is a compact communication module designed for DMX-512 systems , mainly used in stage and decorative lighting control. Equipped with an isolated RS-485 transceiver CA-IS3092W , providing up to 5 kVrms of protection against electrical interference. Communication is via the Grove (UART) interface using the RS485 protocol in half-duplex mode, which allows easy connection to M5Stack controllers. Thanks to the 3-pin XLR (female) connector , the DMX Unit can be directly connected to DMX lighting systems. The built-in 120 Ω termination resistor eliminates the problem of signal reflections at the end of the bus, which improves the integrity of the transmission. The module supports data transmission at up to 500 Kbps (of which DMX-512 uses a fixed value of 250 Kbps). The DMX Unit is a perfect solution for stage lighting control systems, architectural illumination and control of DMX devices.
