SparkFun's 1-channel LoRa gatewaysupports 3 networks with its built-inESP32 WROOMmodule andRFM95WLoRa modem. The RFM95W supports868 MHz(EU) and915 MHz(US) bands, while the ESP32 is responsible for communicationBluetoothandWiFi. The device can be used to convert LoRa (long-range) radio messages into data packets that can be accessed via the Internet. However, the flexibility that this product offers allows it to be used in various other ways as well. It is an excellent and at the same time inexpensive tool that will help to monitor severalLoRadevices and transmit their data to the cloud.
The device can operate as a single-channel LoRa gateway or as an ESP32 / RFM95W main module using ESP32 pinouts. Additionally, the board is equipped with one Qwiic connector. To use the 868 MHz radio in the gateway, you will need an antenna - there are two options. You can use an 86 mm long wire as an antenna to be soldered into the appropriate connector on the board, or use a special 868 MHz antenna with a U.FL connector, for higher performance.
Attention!
Communication on 915 MHz is allowed in the USA. In Europe, communication on this frequency is prohibited.
