Product description: TSC2007 resistive touch screen controller - I2C STEMMA QT - Adafruit 5423

The module from Adafruit is equipped with a resistive touch screen controller - TSC2007 . It is equipped with two Qwiic / STEMMA QT connectors that allow for communication with the microcontroller via the I2C interface. In addition to the Qwiic / STEMMA QT connectors on the board, you can find standard connectors with a pitch of 2.54 mm, to which you can solder the wires or the goldpin strip included in the set, and the FPC connector for connecting a 4-pin screen, raster 1 mm. There is a 3 V voltage regulator on the board, so it can be connected to systems operating with 3 V and 5 V logic.

The pins of the module Outputs of the controller module for resistive touch screens.

The pins of the TSC2007 module

The resistive touch screen controller module is based on the TSC2007 chip, which communicates with the microcontroller via the I2C interface. For connection, you can use the available Qwiic / STEMMA QT connector or standard pins, raster 2.54 mm after soldering the wires or the attached goldpin connectors.

  • VIN - supply voltage from 3 V to 5 V
  • 3Vo - output voltage equal to 3 V with efficiency up to 100 mA
  • GND - the ground of the system
  • SCL - clock line of the I2C bus
  • SDA - data line of the I2C bus
  • FPC connector - 4-pin socket with a pitch of 1 mm for connecting the shield with a cable
  • Y-, X-. Y +, X + - X / Y connectors, available on a 2.54 mm connector, are used to connect the shield in the absence of an FPC cable with a pitch of 1 mm.

The manufacturer has prepared a user guide that makes it much easier to start working with the module. You can find there connection examples with Raspberry Pi and Arduino along with sample program codes.
