Ultra-wide angle camera for Raspberry Pi
This module is a high quality fisheye camera with viewing angle up to 206 degrees, designed to work with Raspberry Pi minicomputers versions 3+, 3, 2, B+, A+, Zero and Zero W. The resolution of the image sensor is as high as 5 MPx - the sensor supports HD 1080p mode at 30 fps.
The lens used in this model - LS-40180 - utilizes unified CS mount system, well known from small board cameras and allowing easy replacement of the optics when needed. The effective focal length is 1.05 mm, and the aperture is f/2.0.
Fisheye lens - how does it work and what is it used for?
The term "fisheye" means that the lens has an extremely wide angle of view compared to conventional standard and wide-angle lenses. It's worth remembering that in the case of fisheye optics, the cameras generate a characteristic, "squeezed" radial image of the observed scene - only thanks to that it's possible to achieve such a wide perspective with a single set of lenses.
ArduCam OV5647 5Mpx fisheye camera with LS-40180 Fish Eye CS mount lens for Raspberry Pi is perfect for building monitoring systems in homes and offices, warehouses, etc. It is also great for mobile robots to observe the environment around the vehicle, as well as in various scientific and teaching applications.
