What does a coaxial cable consist of?
Coaxial cables, also called coaxial cables, are composed of several elements:
- Inner conductor- usually made of copper. The conductor is located in the center.
- Dielectric- a plastic filler made to insulate the inner conductor from the other layers.
- Shield- element made of copper or aluminum, its task is to protect the cable against electromagnetic interference.
- Outer sheath- cable sheath usually made of PE or PVC. It protects the cable from mechanical damage and the impact of atmospheric conditions.
