Waveshare JeTank tracked robot platform based on the Nvidia Jetson Nano Dev Kit minicomputer. Thanks to the Nvidia Jetson Nano module, the robot can track objects using artificial intelligence (AI) through the included IMX219 camera module. The JeTank robot is equipped with a metal arm based on high-quality SCS15-AP digital servos with metal modes . The kit also includes an extension for Jetson Nano in the form of an AC8265 wireless communication module with antennas, a microSD card with a capacity of 64 GB, an OLED display and a gripper.
The manufacturer has prepared a user guide with assembly instructions and the codes of sample programs.
Based on the Nvidia Jetson Nano minicomputer
The JeTank robot is based on a very efficient minicomputer - Nvidia Jetson Nano . This minicomputer is a small but very efficient module with 472 GFLOPS allowing for quick implementation of AI (artificial intelligence) algorithms. Nvidia Jetson Nano is equipped with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 processor and a 128-core Maxwell graphics chip . It is widely used in projects that use deep learning, machine vision, GPU computing, multimedia processing and much more. It supports many popular frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyToch, Caffe / Caffe2, Keras, MXNet, and many more.
The platform is powered by three Li-Ion 18650 batteries, the length of the batteries should not exceed 67 mm.
High-quality platform with motors and a robot arm
The high-quality robot platform is made of metal. Inside there is the Nvidia Jetson Nano module with the main board of the JeTank robot. Crawler robot is equipped with high-quality motors with carbon brushes, resistant to corrosion. The engines are characterized by a low noise level during operation. A 4-DOF robot arm ended with a gripper was placed on the platform. The arm consists of four high-quality digital servos equipped with metal modes. Servos work in the range of 180 °, are characterized by high torque and long service life.
Artificial Intelligence at JeTank
The JeTank robot platform is equipped with an 8 MPx 3280 x 2464 px camera with an IMX219 sensor, which in combination with Nvidia Jetson Nano is able to use artificial intelligence to avoid obstacles and follow given objects. Deep learning algorithms allow the robot to discriminate between objects, so that it will be able to move autonomously, without human interference. The robot can also be controlled by the controller via radio, using a USB receiver.
