Product description: 3D printer - BCN3D Sigma D25 - IDEX dual-extruder
FFF 3D printer , the manufacturer of which is BCN3D. The working area of the device is 420 x 300 x 200 mm . Sigma D25 has two independent IDEX extruders , enabling operation in several available modes. It is compatible with filaments with a diameter of 2.85 mm . The dimensions of the 3D printer structure are 690 x 530 x 550 mm.

Printing modes using the IDEX dual extruder
IDEX is a solution based on the use of two independent extruders in a 3D printer, which allow for simultaneous printing with two colors or different types of filaments . This allows more efficient use of the entire working space of the device. IDEX is also great for creating soluble props .
Duplicate mode
The duplication mode increases the efficiency of the 3D printer thanks to the possibility of printing two identical models at the same time by two independent ektruders. This is a significant time saving compared to traditional single- head 3D printers .
Extruder operation in duplication mode .
Operation of extruders in the mirror image mode .
Mirror mode
In mirror mode, it is possible to print two identical objects, one of which is inverted . This allows you to significantly shorten the design time of such models.
Printing of soluble supports
In the case of printing complex models with irregular shapes, it becomes necessary to use support elements , most often made of water- soluble filaments . In the IDEX system, one extruder can feed the right building material and the other can form soluble reinforcements.

The work of extruders in the multi-material mode .
Multi-material mode
The multi-material mode allows you to form 3D models from materials with different properties . It allows, among others for combining rigid and flexible filaments and printing two-color objects.
Original BCN3D filaments were developed by BASF and Mitsubishi Chemical. They have ready-made configuration profiles, which makes it easier to work with BCN3D 3D printers. Sigma D25 allows you to work with basic materials, such as PLA, PET G, TPU 98A and PVA . Thanks to the open material policy, it is also possible to use thermoplastics from other manufacturers.
Wireless printing
The Sigma D25 uses an OTA (Over The Air) solution that automates the software update process. After connecting to the network, the user can use the BCN3D Cloud service, which allows for a remote connection with a 3D printer, thus enabling, among others, remotely transfer files to the device.
The individual steps of working with Sigma D25 .
Worktable
BCN3D Sigma D25 has an aluminum work plate and a silicone thermal overlay , which ensures even heat distribution over the entire surface of the hotbed. The printer is also equipped with a system that facilitates the calibration process .
Modernized construction of extruders
In the Sigma D25 3D printer, the extruders are placed on the back of the device . The greater distance from the print head allows to eliminate the problem of extruders overheating. The maximum working temperatures of the nozzle and the working table are 300 ° C and 80 ° C , respectively. The ambient temperature for the operation of the 3D printer is in the range of 15 ° C to 30 ° C.
Reinforced axles
The elements of the X axis are made of high quality stainless steel . The Z axis has an improved mechanical structure. These solutions made it possible to achieve a high positioning accuracy of the device, which for the X / Y / Z axis is respectively: 1.25 μm / 1.25 μm / 1 μm .
BCN3D Stratos software
The kit includes the BCN3D Stratos software that acts as a dedicated slicer. It allows you to convert a file with a 3D model into a set of instructions readable for a 3D printer. The model preparation process in Stratos is characterized by high accuracy . It also allows you to efficiently manage the IDEX dual extruder system, incl. by reducing the working time by using hotends with different nozzle sizes while printing at the same time.
The software also includes a set of ready-made printing profiles for all manufacturer's materials supported by the printer. The software license provides for the possibility to run on any number of computers.
