Description
The set consists of a transmitter and receiver of infrared light. To start the device, it must be set in a straight line so that the beam sent to the transmitter, had to be delivered to the receiver. After the interruption of the beam by the third object, the transistor output of open collector type of the receiver will be shorted to ground. A system of this type can be used, for example, in the measurement points for robots following the line.
This version is equipped with an IR 5 mm diode with the beam angle of 20 degrees. The device can be powered with 5V or 3,3 V (for 5 V, the range wil be larger). The receiver has a transistor output of the open collector type. Therefore, in order to obtain a digital signal, you must connect a pulling-up resistor, for example, 10 kΩor enable internal pulling-up system built-in into some microcontrollers, such as AVR or Arduino.
