Parrot - a powerful legacy of advanced technology
Since the company's inception, Parrot products have been state-of-the-art in terms of build quality, sophistication and practical usability. Just one year after its inception, Parrot launched Voicemate, a digital voice assistant that has become a very helpful tool for the visually impaired. Interestingly, famous musician Stevie Wonder also used Voicemate. The new millennium, on the other hand, was the first Bluetooth hands-free kit for cars, which was developed in collaboration with Ericsson. The Bluetooth hands-free car kit continued to be developed, and in 2006, Parrot launched digital photo frames and wireless speakers for home audio equipment. Meanwhile, since the beginning of 2010, Parrot's main products under development have been drones. Parrot has bought a large portion of the market share of other drone companies, and in 2019, the company won a bid to build unmanned drones for the US military.
Parrot Rolling Spider - a drone that flies and... drives!
The Rolling Spider is a drone controlled via Blutetooth Low Energy. It is controlled via a dedicated smartphone app. Weighing just 55g, this drone is perfect for flying indoors and its small size even allows it to land on a person's hand. The side wheels are removable and provide good cushioning for the drone when bouncing off obstacles and when it hits the ground too hard. Moreover, the side wheels provide interesting visual effects - you can get the impression that when flying near walls, the drone even climbs them! The drone is equipped with an accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope and other sensors, which also transmit measurement data to a dedicated app, thus supporting flight stability. Flight time on a single charge of the lithium-ion battery reaches up to 8 minutes.
