Product description: Gravity - MAX30102 heart rate sensor and pulse oximeter - DFRobot SEN0518
The heart rate sensor and pulse oximeter module is based on the MAX30102 chip. It is powered by 3.3 V / 5 V. The MAX30102 uses PPG (PhotoPlethysmoGraphy) data for measurement, which is converted into heart rate and oximetry values after processing by the MCU and then transmitted via the I2C or UART bus. The sensor is easy to use and the data is read by an Arduino microcontroller or Raspberry Pi minicomputer.
What is a Pulse Oximeter?
Apulse oximeter is an electronic device that is designed to perform a non-invasive measurement of blood saturation, or oxygen saturation. It measures the extent to which red blood cells absorb radiation of different wavelengths:
- red - 660 nanometers
- infrared - 940 nanometers
