What are SMD resistors?
SMD resistors are one of the most commonly used elements in mass production of electronics for both consumer and professional use. These elements work according to Ohm's law, i.e. the current flowing through a resistor is directly proportional to the voltage applied to its leads. The most important parameter of a resistor is its resistance (e.g. 510kΩ), which is the proportional coefficient between the current and voltage on the resistor.
How to solder SMD resistors in 0805 housing?
Correct soldering determines the proper functioning of electronic devices. To properly solder SMD resistor in the 0805 housing, tin one of the two solder fields and lubricate the PCB with flux. Then position the resistor with leads to the pads using tweezers. Next heat up the tinned pad and solder the first lead of the resistor. Then solder the second lead. Well made solders are characterized by a shiny and continuous transition between the leads of the components and solder pads. After finishing the assembly wash the flux with isopropyl alcohol and brush with antistatic bristle.
