Which types of screwdrivers are there?
Screwdrivers differ primarily in the shape of the tip. This determines the purpose of screwdrivers and their use. There is a choice of flathead screwdrivers, which are used for screwdriving and loosening single-cut screws. This is the most common type of screwdriver, which is useful for traditional furniture and equipment. The screwdriver bits are ground on both sides. Crosshead screwdrivers are also often used, which support several types of notches, such as Ph and Pz. The six-pointed star shape is characterized by Torx notch screwdrivers. This type of notch reduces the sliding of the screwdriver bits in the notch. Hexagonal socket head screwdrivers are used to handle hexagonal screws. The popular hexagon socket wrench is the perfect alternative to the wrench.
Screwdrivers can also be divided by size. Flat-screwdrivers have 6 sizes, while cross-screwdrivers come in 4 sizes. Always remember to match the size of the screwdriver precisely to the size of the screw or bolt. That is why it is worth having a set of screwdrivers on hand so that you can choose the one that best fits the screw you are using at the time.
Workshop wrenches. Which ones are most useful?
Wrenches, like screwdrivers, differ in size and shape. They are therefore adapted to different working conditions and screw types. Flat wrenches are the most common, which are the basic tool to equip every workshop and are also useful at home for various types of repairs. We use them for unscrewing and screwing hexagonal head screws. The most common are reversible flat wrenches. Socket wrenches have a similar purpose, but they consist of a socket with a hexagonal or hexagonal hole for a nut and a handle. Socket wrenches come in several variants - they are tubular, T-shaped, bent and with a pin. In every workshop you will also need an Allen key with a characteristic hexagonal hole. We use it for screwdriving and unscrewing screws with the right heads.
Also noteworthy are the ring wrenches, which have found their use in machines and pipes of hydraulic and gas systems. A particularly practical ring wrench is a reversible wrench with an additional wrench or ratchet. A star wrench is also a useful tool, which has a very good torque transmission, better than an allen wrench.
The Botland store offers screwdrivers and wrenches in various sizes and with more frequent and less common bits.
