About Cytron

In our store you can find development modules created by Cytron company. It is a manufacturer of microcontroller boards and expansion modules, including controllers for electric motors etc. This company produces electronic modules that are compatible with the wildly popular Arduino ecosystem. As a result, users of these development and educational systems can benefit from extensive community support that will help solve any problem encountered while learning.

Developer boards for hobbyists

Electronics hobbyists are increasingly turning to complex digital systems to build even complex devices such as autonomous robots, control systems or even home automation modules. Cytron is one of the suppliers of expansion modules and development boards that enable the construction of such modules. It does not require much knowledge of electronics or even soldering skills. Thanks to its compatibility with the Arduino interface, a wide range of expansion modules can be attached to modules with microcontrollers manufactured by Cytron, and the motor controllers and other extensions manufactured by this company are compatible with a wide range of development boards that use the Arduino ecosystem.

Arduino compatible modules

Cytron modules have pinouts that are compatible with the Arduino ecosystem. This allows them to be used with modules (called shields) from other vendors providing components for development systems. The Arduino environment has become the de facto standard for development systems, especially those dedicated to amateurs and educators. Due to their compatibility with this ecosystem, Cytron modules can easily be used in educational systems using the Arduino ecosystem.

Expansion boards for Raspberry Pi

Our store offers expansion modules manufactured by Cytron dedicated to the popular Raspberry Pi single board computer. These modules use standard for this minicomputer 40-pin expansion connector with GPIO lines, interfaces etc. Cytron's product range includes both dedicated overlays, used for motor control for example, and general purpose HAT modules, making it easy to connect other systems to the Raspberry Pi expansion connector. Additionally, these modules, often come with buttons, programmable LEDs, etc. which simplifies software development using these boards.

Motor and servo controllers

In the range of hardware manufactured by Cytron there are numerous modules dedicated to control electric motors. In our store you will find a wide spectrum of such modules - from controllers of small motors with low current to modules that can control drives drawing up to a dozen or so amperes - certainly enough to move even the heaviest robot. Additionally, if precision is needed in addition to force, Cytron also supplies stepper motor drivers that support multi-stepping, allowing up to eight times more precision in motion. Cytron also supplies controllers for servos, often used to control small mechanical components such as in radio-controlled models.

Sensor boards with optical sensors

Cytron also manufactures sensor systems for integration into the educational board ecosystem. In our store you can find, among other things, reflective sensor strips manufactured by Cytron for application in robots that are supposed to follow a line drawn on the ground, so-called "line followers". Of course, these types of sensor strips can also be used in other types of robots that are supposed to move in a specific area, for example. This kind of technology is often used in modern factories in automated carts, whose task is to transport objects, for example, from and to the warehouse. The lines limit the space available for the cart to move through in order to avoid hitting walls or people in the factory, for example. With Cytron development kits you can test this technique in your own home.
