Magnetic connectors are very often used during prototyping of systems - they facilitate and accelerate the process of connecting two modules with each other. Those produced by Adafruit are modeled on MagSafe, and a similar solution can also be found in MacBooks and the littleBits set. The kit consists of two connectors - male with 9 pins pogo and female with 9 pins . The pins' pitch is 2.2 mm. Attempting to reverse connect the connectors will end up pushing them apart.
