Description
GertDuino is a module that extends the capabilities of minicomputer Raspberry Pi. It is the Atmega328 chip with additions having the possibility of direct attachment to theRaspberry Pi. The microcontroller is clocked with the signal of16 MHz, on Board are also switches, 6 LEDs, voltage converter RS232 - UART and connectors compatible with the traditionalArduino.
The Board also has a system Atmega48 which can serve as a real time clock or microcontroller that executes any program uploaded by the user. Atmega48 is connected toRaspberry Pithrough I2C bus. The system also supports the IRDA protocol, because of it, together with the installed TSOP4038 IR receiver, they allow you to create a wireless connection.
Atmega328 and Atmega48 can be programmed directly from minicomputer Raspberry Pi. All connections have been adequately protected from voltage of 5 V. Both microcontrollers have the same pins that differ only by amount of memory, so the code for Atmega328 will work also on Atmega48. Board GertDuino can be used separately, without the need to connect tothe Raspberry Pi. Software can be written using the Arduino IDE or using the traditional GCC compiler.
