Xbee & Xbee Arduino modules – control robots and mobile devices

Xbee modules are embedded systems that give us holistic solutions. They offer wireless end-point connectivity to different kinds of devices. Xbee modules use IEEE 802.15.4 networking protocol for fast point-to-multipoint or peer-to-peer networking. They can manage many kinds of devices, whether they are minicomputers, Arduino modules and other embedded systems, or properly configured desktops and laptops. High-throughput applications with law latency are no problem for Xbee, which gives you the ability to control everything at once without any effort. Basically, we can distinguish Xbee main modules and additional hardware and accessories. Most of the printed circuit boards of Xbee modules are manufactured by third party companies, mostly well-known robotics companies like DFRobot, that create licensed products based on the specifications and core technology of Xbee. Individual solutions can also be dedicated to individual ecosystems (a good example are the Xbee Arduino modules, which are specially designed for Arduino boards and guarantee you better control and remote management of their work). You will find all types of the above devices in this category.

Xbee – modules with great communication possibilities

XBee modules use the IEEE 802.15.4 standard for short-range wireless communication networks and devices, thus practically all programmable electronics modules. Receiving and sending data takes place in the serial transmission model, which means that the XBee modules can easily work with the Arduino, a separate microcontroller and a computer (in the Botland store you will also find dedicated Xbee Arduino models). Moreover, Xbee can also work with other Xbee modules in parallel (local mesh topology network). The wireless communication possibilities of these modules are practically limitless. They can therefore be used in various devices and applications. You will use Xbee systems for effective remote control of robots, remote monitoring and security systems, as well as for building automation processes control. Xbee will also help you to control the most popular types of Internet of Things projects: remote control of lighting, window blinds and different home appliances.
