One of the most visible trends in almost every walk of life in the 21st century is the increasing narrowing of specialization. In opposition to this approach stand (relatively) few corporations, which range of activities include not one, but many, often seemingly distant from each other industries. One of such companies is the Japanese Omron Group, which over more than 80 years of activity (since its establishment in Osaka in 1933) has gained enough experience and capital to be able to set trends in industrial technologies, as well as medical equipment for general use. The Omron brand has become synonymous with high quality and reliability, and its products - both complete devices and even the simplest electronic components - can now be found everywhere. The company has more than 37,000 employees in total in all its branches, and offers official support via subsidiaries and representatives all over the world, including all European countries.

Omron has a long history of producing high quality industrial devices and components - in any production line you will not be hard pressed to find Japanese branded relays, PLCs, safety systems or sensors. In terms of switching elements alone, Omron offers simple electromechanical components, modern and reliable solid state relays (SSRs) and high-quality switches. The company is also a supplier of specialized inspection systems, dedicated to automated, vision-based quality control in high-volume electronics manufacturing. Components and assemblies - from goldpins to image analysis modules
Every electronics designer will have had at least one experience of Omron's connectors, which are manufactured as part of the company's huge separate division, Omron Electronic Components. The company offers not only basic, simple pin connectors (goldpins) but also all the most commonly used connectors for data transfer (DSUB, USB) and connectors for FPC tape. Omron is also a manufacturer of electromechanical PCB-mount relays, miniature MOSFET relays, various types of SSRs, and even special relays dedicated to high-frequency operation. At the other end of the complexity scale are high-performance MEMS sensors (accelerometers, pressure sensors, etc.) and intelligent image analysis modules. Omron is also a manufacturer of excellent industrial encoders, ready to be used in virtually any automation system.

You will find here, among others, excellent industrial class rotary encoders, such as model E6B2-CWZ6C. It is an incremental encoder with a resolution of 1000 pulses/rotation, ready to work with a power supply in the range of 5 to 24 V in a robust, shielded housing. The encoder has three phases (two quadrature outputs and an additional Z-tag output). You can also find a similar model with a lower resolution (600 imp/rev). For devices that control network loads we recommend the Omron G3MB-202P SSR relay module with 5 V control and 240 V / 2 A output capacity.
