Product description: Badger 2040 - board with RP2040 and 2.9 '' e-paper screen 296x128px - Pimoroni PIM607
Badger 2040 was created by the Pimoroni company in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Raspberry Pi. The board is based on a dual-core RP2040 ARM Cortex M0 + microcontroller clocked at 133 MHz with 264 KB of SRAM and 2 MB of QSPI flash memory with XiP support. The module has a monochrome e-paper screen with a diagonal of 2.9 " and a resolution of 296 x 128 px . There are 5 buttons on the front of the board, while on the other side you can find the GPIO pins, JST battery connector, Qwiic / Stemma QT, USB type C and two buttons.
Module with e-Ink screen
The e-paper screen with which the board is equipped can also be found in e-book readers. These types of displays do not strain the eyes, which makes them ideal for reading long texts. These types of screens consume a small amount of energy, and after disconnecting from the power supply, they still display the last image. The screen used on the board has a diagonal of 2.9 "and a resolution of 296 x 128 pixels, and the distance between pixels is 0.227 x 0.226 mm. The screen displays the image in shades of black and white.
Programming the Badger 2040 board
The Badger 2040 board is based on the RP2040 chip, which is programmed in C / C ++, MicroPython and CircuitPython. The manufacturer has prepared C ++ and MicroPython libraries along with sample program codes.
