Description
Banana Pi is a minicomputer equipped with 1 GB of RAM, processor Allwinner A20 ARM® Cortex™-A7 Dual-Core 1 GHz and the connectors are known from the Raspberry Pi, i.a.: 2 x USB, SD card slot, HDMI, RCA, audio Jack. Board also has GPIO pins and network interfaces of UART, I2C, SPI. Thanks to the SATA connector, the user can connect a drive of up to 2 TB. Built-in buttons: Reset, Power, Uboot and the IR receiver are useful during the operation of the module.

The picture and sound
Banana Pi has an HDMI connector, through which you can send picture and sound. In addition, the board were equipped with the jack connector, to which you can connect headphones, speakers and RCA slot, allowing to output the video.
Operating system
The drive of Banana Pi is a microSD memory card. The operating system can be uploaded via the computer with the reader. Board supports, i.a. systems: Android, Android 4.4, Debian, Ubuntu and Raspbian. Installation guide of the system, can be found at this address.
Communication
Banana Pi has basic communication interfaces that can be found in office computers of PC class. In addition to the previously listed connectors of audio and video, the user has at his or her disposal:
- two USB ports, to which can be connected, for example, a mouse, a keyboard, a wi-fi card or USB flash drive. If you find that the slots are too short, you can increase their number using an external USB HUB.
- Ethernet connector, that is the ability to directly connect to the LAN network
- 26 x GPIO- outputs/inputs with general purpose that can be used to control the LEDs, buttons, drivers of motors. Among them are the pins supporting interfaces: I2C, SPI and UART.
- SATA connector to connect the drive of up to 2 TB via cable.
- the output of the camera - the amount of data lines is different than in the Raspberry Pi, so the cameras will not be compatible.
Power
As a power source, the system uses the microUSB connector. The 5 V power supply can be usedwith the capacity not less than 2 A to run the Banana Pi.
