What do I need to run Retroflag GPi?
- Raspberry Pi Zero- The chassis and chipsets implemented there work only with Raspberry Pi Zero versions without GPIO pins.
- MicroSD card- Just as with the classic use of Raspberry minicomputers, you will need a memory card to run the software.
- 3xAA batteries- the batteries will serve as a power source without the need for power cables.
- Software- software allowing to emulate games, an example of such software can beRecalboxorRetroPie.
For proper operation of the console it is recommended to implement asafe power disconnectscript prepared by the product developers. |
Retro console based on modern technology
The housing gracefully reflects the look and functionality known from the first portable gaming consoles, the whole thing was made with great attention to detail, even the control was realized using buttons known from retro consoles. The chassis consists of two parts, the first of which is the main part of the console includes a 2.8-inch IPS display, buttons and switches to operate, a battery compartment, which also includes a microUSB connector for system updates and a switch for safe power disconnection. There is also a DC jack socket for 5V power and a microSD card slot on the sides. In the lower part there is an audio connector for connecting headphones.
The second part of the console is to imitate the cartridge known from the retro consoles, this is where ourRaspberry Pi Zerowill be placed and the module attached to the console connected to RPi. This module is plugged into the GPIO connector of our raspberry using the Pogo pins, additionally we connect the module to the microUSB socket of our RPi using the included mini-wire.
