The frame is heavy enough so that it doesn't keep slipping away during soldering. However, it is a bit fiddly to clamp the PCB stably in the jaws, the solution with the fixing screws is not ideal. I would advise professionals not to, but in my opinion it still works better for the hobby than the usual alligator clips on the "3rd hand".

I bought a PCB stand and my opinion is that it is a good quality device, sufficient for home electronics needs. The appearance of the tripod is nice, no complaints. When it comes to usability, the tripod is helpful when working with PCP boards (assembly soldering, desoldering, and drilling).
