3D printer heat - hotend head, filament and melting
After initial melting in the extruder, our filament must be delivered to the heating block, where it changes its consistency to partially liquid. Thanks to this, the print is arranged in a precise way, using the layer-by-layer method, and thanks to this, it is considered such an incredibly precise way of producing dream objects. To ensure that the filament solidifies quickly enough when printing, the heating block with the nozzle is additionally cooled by a fan. A hotend can therefore be described as an element of an FDM 3D printer that heats, melts and extrudes the material layer by layer through a nozzle. Why are you so important? Because the whole structure of the hotend helps to maintain a constant, accurate temperature and ensure optimized heat dissipation.
Choosing a hotend for a 3D printer
Printer compatibility may not be a problem, but it is certainly a factor that you obviously need to consider before buying. Because 3D printer hotends are not universal, some form of custom mounting is often required. The good news is that they are often 3D printed. Many hotends have mounting structures that can help. A good hotend should not get too hot, and certainly not after turning off the 3D printer, avoid the clogging effect, i.e. clogging of the 3D printer nozzle and the heat creep effect, i.e. the filament melts too early due to the heat dissipating (moving) up the hotend itself.
