Product description: ADC analog-to-digital converter - ADS7830 - 8-bit 8-channel - I2C - STEMMA QT / Qwiic - Adafruit 5836

8-channel module with an analog-to-digitalconverter with 8-bit precision equipped with the ADS7830 chip. The maximum sampling rate is 70 ksps and the SNR is 50 dB . The task of the ADC converter is to convert the analog signal into a digital signal, which allows you to connect digital modules (e.g. Arduino or Raspberry Pi ) with peripheral devices and analog sensors. The board operates with a voltage of 3 V and 5 V and is also equipped with STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors, which allow for quick prototyping.

The manufacturer has prepared a detailed user guide . You will find there, among others, a description of the system, the arrangement of pins and an example program code.

ADC analog-to-digital converter - ADS7830 - 8-bit 8-channel - I2C - STEMMA QT / Qwiic - Adafruit 5836.

The board has terminals in the form of solder pads.

Description of the board pins

The board has two connection options - using standard soldering pads, to which the goldpin strips included in the kit should be soldered, or using STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors, which do not require soldering.

  • VIN - supply voltage from 3 V to 5 V,
  • REF - positive reference pin,
  • GND - system ground,
  • COM - negative reference pin,
  • SDA - I2C bus data line,
  • SCL - clock line of the I2C bus,
  • A0-A7 - inputs to the ADC converter.
