The sensor module is based on the ENS160 chip, which is used to monitor indoor air cleanliness. It processes IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) data such as TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compounds), eCO2 (equivalent CO2), AQI (Air Quality Index). It is powered by 3.3 V. The module consumes very little power and is very accurate. It communicates via I2C and SPI interfaces.

The manufacturer has prepared detailed user guide and library for Arduino IDE environment.

The diagram shows the connection of the module to the FireBeetle ESP32-E board. The sensor uses I2C or SPI interface for communication. Pinouts of ENS160 air cleaner sensor:

  • 3V3: power supply
  • GND: ground
  • SCL: I2C bus clock line
  • SDA: I2C bus data line
  • SCK: SPI bus clock line
  • SDI: SPI bus data input
  • SDO: SPI bus data output
  • CS: SPI selector
  • INT: interrupt pin

Sensor connection to Raspberry Pi

The sensor module is compatible with Raspberry Pi, connect it as per the diagram. The sensor uses I2C or SPI interface for communication.
