Product description: Arduino Edge Control - Bluetooth controller for outdoor applications - Arduino AKX00034
Controller equipped withBluetoothchip allowing remote monitoring and control, optimized foroutdoor environments. Board is equipped with a socket for plugging in anyArduinomodulefrom MKR series, which will enable connection with Bluetooth wireless network, 2G / 3G / CatM1 / NB-IoT modems, LoRa, Sigfox or WiFi. It can be placed anywhere, suitable forprecision farming, and other applications requiring intelligent control in remote locations. Arduino Edge Control can connect sensors and actuate actuators such as latching valves (common in agriculture). It also enables real-time monitoring of the entire process, thus reducing production risk. The board has been particularly adapted for smart agriculture, the sensors can collect real-time data such as weather conditions, soil quality, crop growth, among others. The data will be uploaded toArduino Cloudor a third-party service, so you can preview the sensor data at any time. Arduino Edge Control can improve crop quality and reduce human effort/errors by automating processes such as irrigation, fertilization or pest control.
Examples of Arduino Edge Control applications
- Automated greenhouses
Automatically manage humidity and temperature to provide the best environment for crop growth, minimizing carbon emissions and increasing economic efficiency. Using theArduino MKR GPS Shieldwill allow for optimal crop rotation planning and geospatial data acquisition.
- Growing mushrooms
Mushrooms are known to require ideal temperature and humidity conditions to maintain spore growth while preventing the growth of competing fungi. With the numerous sensors, input ports and connectivity options available in Arduinoo Edge Control, precision farming can achieve results at unprecedented levels.
- Hydroponics / Aquaponics
Hydroponics involves growing plants without soil, so great care must be taken to maintain the conditions required for optimal growth. The Arduino Edge Control can be configured to control these conditions with minimal manual effort. The board can help meet the even higher demands of Aquaponics by providing automatic control of the internal process, reducing production risk.
