Description: Arduino MKR GPS Shield ASX00017 - cap for Arduino MKR
Overlay forArduino MKR series, allows you to create projects that require GPS location determination. On the board is integrated GNSSu-blox SAM-M8Q.The module is designed to work with different positioning services simultaneously. It allows to receive and send signals from GPS, GLONASS and Galileo. The device can be placed directly on MKR pins or connected with any device having such a connector using the includedESLOVcable. It communicates viaI2Cinterface in case of connection via ESLOV or UART connector when it is superimposed on Arduino MKR pins.

Configuration of GPS overlay for MKR.
The GPS module can be configured usingspecial commands. A battery slot has been placed on the board to keep the configurations made. This can be convenient e.g. when changing the GPS mode to 1g, which is commonly used in experiments at high altitudes. Another example is the use of Galileo location, which is disabled by default, but can be enabled by sending configuration message (UBXCFG-GNSS) to the receiver. A detailed description of all commands is available here.
GPS Shield
The board has additional ESLOV connector in addition to Arduino MKR compatible pins. It is a 5-pin connector with a 1 mm grid. Using this connector, connect the module to the motherboard via I2C interface.
